John K. Cox
John K. Cox is professor of history and department head at North Dakota State University. His translations include the novel Mansarda by Danilo Kiš and short fiction by Kiš, Ismail Kadare, Ivan Ivanji, Ivo Andrić, and Meša Selimović. His writings include The History of Serbia and Slovenia: Evolving Loyalties, as well as the forthcoming Understanding Ismail Kadare. His teaching and research interests center on twentieth-century intellectual history of the Balkans and Central Europe, the Holocaust, and World War I. He and his family live with their bikes, cats, and a lot of books on the edge of the prairie.
