Anne F. Garréta, elected to the Oulipo in 2000, is Associate Professor of French Literature at the University of Rennes in France and Visiting Professor in the Literature Program at Duke University. She has published several novels in French, including Ciels liquides, La décomposition, and, with Jacques Roubaud, Eros mélancolique....

Her first novel, Sphinx, a love story in which the genders of the lovers are never specified, was published in English translation by Deep Vellum Press in 2014. She was awarded the Prix Médicis in 2002 for her novel Pas un jour.
