Words without Borders announces the redesign and re-launch of its web based magazine

New York City, New York, January 6, 2009—Words without Borders (WWB) announces a major redesign of its web based magazine, www.wordswithoutborders.org.

The magazine redesign makes the site easier to navigate, better highlights current articles, makes accessing the archive of more than 1,200 articles simpler, creates self management opportunities for users, and lays the groundwork for future programming, particularly WWB’s new education program.

Bud Par of Sonnet Media, our lead web developer, said, “This design was overdue. It uses some of the best technology and one of the most sophisticated content management systems on the market. And, it allows for easier and better navigation of the site by our more than 30,000 readers every month.”

The WWB blog, which can still be found on the site, has been renamed Dispatches, and new content will be announced in the coming months including a newsletter focused on the publishing industry and a new monthly newsletter with new book recommendations for our readers.

The magazine continues to offer, free of charge, eight to 10 new articles every month featuring the best of literature in translation from around the world.  This month’s issue is  “Long Story Short: International Flash Fiction,” which focuses on short fiction of 500-1200 words.
